Allen is a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Oklahoma and is also a Tulsa Native. After starting his career in Tulsa he moved to Chicago to explore and gain experience. In his previous life, Allen spent six years working for an all inclusive AEC firm (Architecture, MEP, Structural, Civil, and Construction Management) and five years as the Engineering Manager for a large Mechanical Subcontractor where he focused on both engineering design and troubleshooting for the controls, fabrication, and installation teams in the field. While in Chicago, he was able to gain extensive knowledge on the design process, the construction process, and the overall MEP systems commissioning process. He prides himself on his responsiveness, problem solving techniques, and creativity. Allen has been a longstanding member of ASHRAE, is a Certified Commissioning Agent (CxA), and is licensed in Oklahoma, Illinois, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Colorado.

Katie Tillery-Merk is a graduate of the dual Industrial Engineering / MBA program at the University of Oklahoma and is a proud Oklahoma Native. Katie has over thirteen years of engineering design and project management experience. She also has vast experience with startup strategy development, business development, and product development. Katie’s diverse experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects for a variety of industries provides a unique perspective for the Green Acorn team. She believes strongly in connecting the right people with the right information in a timely manner to ensure Green Acorn projects are successful for all parties involved. Katie enjoys volunteering with non-profits in Tulsa, mentoring others, and supporting/promoting the City of Tulsa and its regional ecosystem.
