Green Acorn is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Coordinator with 0-2 years of experience to join our talented Engineering Team in Tulsa, OK. The Engineer will be responsible for working with building owners and architects to develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire
protection system designs for commercial construction projects. Current design projects in the Green Acorn pipeline include high-rises, film/audio studios, theatres, gymnasiums, schools, churches, and industrial facilities.

The Job

  • Design HVAC systems for both new construction and renovations of existing buildings

    • Work with building owners and architects to develop Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR).

    • Survey existing facilities and their MEP systems.

    • Model buildings and perform load calculations to determine the heating, cooling, and ventilation requirements for the building.

    • Work with equipment vendors to select the appropriate equipment for the application taking into consideration temperature zones, energy usage, peak and off-peak performance, and the OPR.

    • Generate 3DModels of the new systems and coordinate with electrical, structural, and civil engineers.

    • Perform code reviews during design.

    • Coordinate with the architect to ensure the proposed designs fit within the building aesthetic.

  • Design plumbing and fire protection systems for both new construction and renovations of existing buildings.

  • Assist with construction administration tasks and see your designs become reality.

  • Perform site visits to the construction site to ensure building systems are being built per the design documents.

  • Commission the equipment to ensure functions properly.
